Finally seeing some progress......

They have started stuccoing the outside of the house, the inside of the house is being painted with the first coat of Kilz, prepping for the American clay (Plaster), and Jimmy is measuring the outside walls for the stone around the edges, the stucco has to cure for a month before they add the color.
And last, but not least....my first kitchen cabinet!!! The rest are in the garage, waiting, but this one has a toe kick on the base for the central vacuum system.

Have Granite will travel!

Jimmy and our friend Paul, left out for Vegas on Monday morning, got to the granite shop and got loaded on Tuesday and are headed home via Albuquerque, so they can pick up the bags of American Clay (a sort of plaster for the inside of the house) and be home on Wednesday.

Railings arrived!

Today was a busy day....they brought my railings up from El Paso.
Found a great company named "ELITE", they do wroght iron, etc.
they are great.....nice design work and really fast. I wanted classy, but not too "frou frou".
Jimmy had forgotten to tell them that the floor level ws going to be different because of the Radiant floor heat tubing.....so they popped out a welder and fixed it! really cool...I think we'll be using them in the future.

Rack for Granite slabs!

Jimmy welded together a rack of steel to carry the granite slabs back from Las Vegas that we found when were at the builder's convention. We borrowed the flatbed trailer from a friend and bolted the steel to the floor. Jimmy is planning to pick up 9 slabs (what'd'ya want to bet he shows up with 10?) Our friend from Santa Teresa, Paul, is going along for the ride.

Home of Tomorrow!

Upon arrival, Jimmy went to the convention early Tuesday and signed us up for the 3 hour tour (haha!) of the New American Home , in Henderson, Nv. a city adjoining Vegas.A 5 million dollar home. I loved the cool fireplaces and all the water features.....lots of Infinity edged pools.....definitely a party house, 3 bedrooms and only 4 baths that I could count, but at least 5 bars, a wine tasting room, media room, lots of seating areas....8 I think....pool table, etc. almost everything opened to the outside..I loved the "floating" bed and the "floating" travertine walkway.........it was 3 levels...lots of stairs, and, believe it or not, NO ELEVATOR! I couldn't imagine a 5 mil home, 3 levels..without an elevator!   It's for sale.....if you want!

On the road again.....

Well, last week was the IBS.... International Builder's Show, in Las Vegas. The pictures above are as we're approaching Flagstaff, Az. and as we cross over Hoover Dam, on the new bridge built by a man named Monk (was in the Marathon Coach Club with us). He passed away before it was finished.
Anyway, it was really sad to see how low the lake was ....25-30 feet.

It is Awesome!
It is fully automatic and sooooo quiet! Twice as fast and twice as many people.
Nothing like it in the states, that I know of!
I love to ride it in the summer...beautiful scenery!

Mr. Snead's house

A man, Mr. Snead, asked Jimmy to Spray foam insulate his new house.....a job referred to us by our plumber Josh. (thanks Josh). He has now told his neighbor, who had someone else do his house and it is really poorly done, so he wants Jimmy to come "fix it".....sigh....
I fear it'll be March before I'm in my house.!!!

Texas friends!

Our very sweet friends, from McAllen, Tx. drove all the way here, to spend the New Year with us, and it snowed just for them!
We had a great time.....went to Winterpark, so they could go tubing, saw "Parental Guidance" (a really cute movie) and generally just enjoyed spending time together. Randy, Lynette and Regina.
Regina even made snow angels!

Well, my brother, Ty, his girlfriend of many years, her son and wife and Gloria came up around the 21st of December. We had a nice Christmas in the clubhouse, then Jimmy took Mark (Sandie's son) skiing! We got to see the new Gondolas being set up....not in use, yet, and some pretty scenery.
