Dark Shadows

Just went and saw Dark Shadows. Johnny Depp was great as Barnabas Collins (he does weird guys SO well!)
If you are a fan of the TV show, years ago as I was....you'll "get it". Dr. Julia was an older, not attractive woman, on the TV show...and the mother was actually Joan Bennett, the film actress...on the TV show.
Willie Loomis, Barnabas' sidekick, in the movie, was Jackie Earle Haley, recently on the TV show Human Target.And....of all things......Alice Cooper (the musician) did a cameo appearance!

Jimmy and Shadow playing golf!

Jimmy's putting green is finally finished and Shadow's newest, "funest"game is beating the golf ball to the hole! He's pretty amazing, whatever angle you aim....he adjusts his stance! Pretty funny!

Hummingbirds won't wait.......pretty cool!

First concrete pour....the car garage.

My Garden Tower

I have started an Aeroponic Garden. Lettuce and tomatoes to start with....just planted....2 weeks seedlings!
It has a water reservoir in the bottom and pumps the water to the top and waterfallsback to the bottom, feeding the plants. I'll post pictures as it grows!
Can't wait!

Laying the tubing for the Radiant Floor...

Jimmy, along with our neighbor, Mr. Cox, just finished the downstairs portion of the tubing for the heated floor.....now it's pressure testing, pouring the slab, and then hopefully the framing starts soon!

You've got your family.....I've got mine!

This was just too good!

Hummingbirds can't wait for dinner!

Don't know if Jimmy's shirt attracted them, or if they were just really hugry, but the Hummingbirds are not waiting for dinner!

Thundersquirrel and Chubbo the ground squirrel

This is so cute!
Thundersquirrel, a small tree squirrel that we have adopted and even have a house for, has run across this Chubbo....a ground squirrel twice his size! Whenever he gets too close, he chases him off! I can't imagine why a huge critter would be afraid of a small one, except that he doesn't go in the trees, at all.
Thundersquirrel is very territorial!!

Happy Mother's Day!

The picture's fuzzy and lighting bad, but Mother's Day brunch was yummy, then we went to see "The Avengers"! I love Robert Downey, Jr.! Fun movie!

Jimmy has been laying out and tying the Radiant floor tubing! here he is standing in the garage

Gary Puckett and the Union Gap

Remember the late 60's? Well, Jimmy surprised me with tickets and we went to see Gary Puckett last night. It was a fun evening with some great old songs and some fun stories were told.
His keyboard player, Jamie Hibold, also plays with W.C. Clark in Austin, when he's not playing with Gary.......My brother plays drums for WC Clark, too......so it was fun to meet him too.

Nikki and Shadow watch as the drains get dug!

Spray Foam Insulation class

During the day, (the races were at night), we were enrolled in a very intense 8-9 hour a day class on the chemisty and usage of spray foam insulation. We plan on using it on our own home and the 17 more we plan to build. We've also learned about retrofitting existing houses. It seems that in a few years, fibreglass (like the pink stuff that comes in rolls)....is going to stop being made. This foam stuff will not only acheive the "R" value in 3 1/2" of foam, but will make the house "air impermeable"...thereby making it fire resistant, help with allergies, no drafts in the house and keep critters out!
It's expensive up front, but the savings in 3 years will more than pay for itself.Plus it's "green" and has Energy Star ratings, etc.....Pretty cool stuff!

Spring has sprung!

Spring has sprung! I am getting my flowers out to water, on my little flower cart!

More putting green pics!

You see who did most of the work, but I helped a little!
