In our little bitty bedroom on the deck...I decided that we needed more room, so I asked Jimmy to build a Murphy Bed. When no one is visiting, Jimmy can fold it up and open the desk, for his office. Pretty cool, huh?

At the end of June, The Woodwinds Gang got together for a finger food get-together....It was fun, we solved all the problems of the world!

We were sitting at the Sonic, in the beautiful downtown Ruidoso...when a terrible fire broke out, right across the highway behind the K-Bob's! They even had a plane come in and drop slurry!

Well....here is Jimmy's latest project. A toolshed/garage for the golf cart......it is 12 X 14....nearly the size of the deck! it even has an attic, for more storage. (sigh) the king of overkill....has made it so strong, the deck could blow down before the toolshed will.....we had to have a foundation of almost 3 yards of concrete!

I just got a book on the birds of New Mexico, so I could identify all the ones I see, so far, I've seen the Scott's Oriole, wild turkeys, Red Crossbill, Downy Woodpecker, some type of Nuthatch (known for running headfirst down a treetrunk) and of course Black chinned hummingbirds, Broad tailed hummingbirds, and Rufous hummingbirds (the smaller orange ones). I've also seen Blue Jays...but don't have a picture, yet.

After realizing that a 3,000 square foot house in Texas doesn't fit in a deck in New Mexico very well, Jimmy has decided to tear down and rebuild the toolshed....much bigger! Storage for lots of stuff, and, Oh By The Way.....a garage for his golf cart.....
in the meantime, our friend Robert from Fort Worth, drove in to give Jimmy a hand in framing it.

While driving to El Paso for dinner, I got a good shot of the KTSM Antenna tower and the Aerial Tramway that my daddy built back in the 60s. The Tramway system goes down the other side of the mountain....quite a fete at the time. my dad and brothers and workers went up and down the mountain on a platform and a cable, to build it. The actual TV tower had giant bolts that needed to be tightened every few days, in the beginning, because the wind made the tower sway! Now, of course, there is a cable car.....and last I heard, it was no longer running........BUT, the big thing at the time, was that you could see 3 states and 2 countries! (Texas, New Mexico and Chihuahua, Mexico!)

Headed back to the mountains at the end of the week.

After arriving in Las Cruces....the new truck "Sync" radio system didn't work so we took it to the dealership and they gave us a PRIUS!!! What a hoot...the car got 50 MPG and was so quiet, when you stopped at a stoplight, you think the engine died! We went to dinner with some friends, in El Paso and left the dogs in the running car with the a/c/ on. Some woman freaked out and called the police because we left the dogs in the car with the windows rolled up! Jimmy walked out and made her stick her hand in the car....70 degrees! OOPS!

We "Loaded up the truck and moved to Beverleee....." I felt like the Beverly Hillbillies.....but we loaded the golfcart onto the truck and headed west. A quick trip to the deck to off-load some things then I had to be in Las Cruces, NM for a doctor's appointment.

Jimmy's new golf cart.....Street legal, cool, huh?

In the middle of all this, Jimmy decided to trade the Hummer in for a new pick-up truck. I know, I know....shocked me too... 13 years of Hummers!
But it was basically so he could carry his new golf cart in the back.

Next were the countertops, from formica to granite...a beautiful color called....creama bordeaux....
We also replaced the sink in the office bathroom with a cabinet and some left over granite countertop, with a vessel sink.

This is the beginning.......
Remodeled the kitchen, just like I always wanted, and then , as always, decided to put it up for sale!
He did this with the our first bus, too !

He has also decided to move to New Mexico. We plan to build houses there and he has wanted to live there since the beginning, so with the house totally re-done, bathrooms and kitchen, on the market it goes!

First was the floor.. from white porcelin to a pretty travertine.

We went to the grocery store yesterday and Jimmy found these beautiful roses! Some kind of hybrid...aren't they gorgeous? Not sure what kind they are (coming from an ex-florist) but these are a new one even for me! But........stay tuned. I am getting my kitchen re-done, next week. New Granite countertops, new appliances, sink, faucet, etc. Pictures forthcoming!

Well.....Jimmy and his Big Green Egg are cooking dinner, Steak, Hamburger, chicken sweet corn and sweet onions! He tends to go a little overboard.....to say the least! But, with a salad, we'll have meals for the rest of the week! The funniest part is that we have no corn stickers, so Jimmy, of course, uses his 4" galvanized screws..and a drill.......it worked! Really good!

Well, we've packed up and headed West to the mountains for a couple of weeks, until we go back for the Texas NASCAR race. For the first time in 5 years we aren't at Bristol for the race, this weekend....so, I will be parked in front of the TV!
The weather is 66 degrees and bright, clear sunshine! Headed to town for lunch, then the grocery store..... We're the only ones in the RV resort, so far...the rest will be coming back in a few weeks.....but I love it when no ones here!
watching qualifying.....YEA! so far...Jeff Gordon's got pole position!
